Housing Bank supported the Business Development Center (BDC) in implementing a specialized training course in entrepreneurship aimed at empowering 25 young men and women with disabilities and enhancing their self-employment approaches. The program was coordinated with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as part of the Bank’s commitments presented at the Global Disability Summit 2025, held in Berlin last April, with the goal of empowering persons with disabilities and turning them into active individuals, especially in developing countries.

This support, provided under the umbrella of the Bank’s social responsibility platform “Imkan Al-Iskan,” makes Housing Bank one of the first institutions to transform national orientations and commitments from the Summit into tangible, practical steps on the ground.
The Bank’s initiative reflects its commitment to continuously responding to the directions of the Central Bank of Jordan to align services with the diverse needs of persons with disabilities, going beyond basic banking services.
Supporting this course represents a qualitative step toward strengthening social and economic inclusion and empowerment. It also aligns with the Bank’s commitment, through “Imkan Al-Iskan,” to raising individual capacities and improving quality of life without discrimination, focusing on breaking barriers faced by persons with disabilities and turning challenges into opportunities—thereby contributing to building a more just society that ensures the participation of all in public life and the economy.
The course provided participants with practical and knowledge-based tools to develop their entrepreneurial capacities. Over 10 days, it covered many topics such as entrepreneurship concepts and skills, access to financing, and feasibility studies—equipping participants for integration into the labor market and economy.
It is noteworthy that the Business Development Center (BDC) is a Jordanian non-profit organization that contributes to economic development through designing and implementing development programs aimed at creating job opportunities for Jordanians, strengthening the spirit of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
