Prince Mired Meets the British Lumos Delegation

His Highness Prince Mired bin Ra’ad, President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, met on Sunday with a delegation from the British Lumos Organization headed by its Chief Executive Officer, Georgette Mulheir. They discussed boosting the ongoing cooperation between the two sides in various relevant fields in the presence of the British ambassador.

The organization's visit to the Kingdom is part of a series of joint activities between the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Ministry of Social Development to present alternative services for the institutionalization of children and adults with disabilities within the framework of a ten-year plan.

Cooperation in this area aims at strengthening the independent living system of persons with disabilities in the Kingdom. It will provide access to health care, education and social care that is tailored to their needs. It will also provide the necessary support to their families so that they can offer the care their children need to develop their abilities.
